Letter of Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:

I have had the pleasure of knowing Model Nguyen for the last 4 years. I first became
acquainted with Model through my daughter, Bethanie Rosell, who attends Carlsbad High
School with him.  Through their social connection we have enjoyed having Model in our
home for various functions.  Through these casual activities I have come to appreciate
Model's kindness and consideration for those around him.  He was especially kind to my
ill and aging mother who lived with us for a short time.  He was always gracious and
offered assistance to help us with her mobility.  His language is always clean and he is
kind toward friends.  I have never heard him speak in a manner that would be considered
offensive or of gossip.  Model seems to always be the resident driver of all the friends that
surround him.  He is quick to offer a ride home to anyone who needs it.
I am also fortunate to know Model through our shared faith.  The church we attend is a
very active and participative church.  Model not only attends Sunday services each week
but also, voluntarily, attends a religious study class each morning before school starts.
Each Wednesday evening I spend time with Modell at the church youth activity night.  It is
at these meetings that I have come to know Model best.  The activities are such that they
incorporate quite a bit of service in various forms.  Model has helped collect food for the
needy, clean yards, clean buildings, visit the sick and elderly, and help with Boy Scout
Eagle projects.  He is a non-complaining, hard worker.
What strikes me the most about Model is his independence. His high school and
college paths have been completely up to him.  In high school he competed with the
men's championship volleyball team for 4 years.  He made it to all the practices and all
the games on his own.  He has, all on his own, completed all of the college application
requirements.  He has repeatedly chose paths in his life which are good that not many
youth his age would have the foresight or wisdom to choose.  He is a young man of
character who has accomplished many good things and has the capacity to accomplish
even more great things in his life.

Sincerely,
Deana Rosell
